Wall for Ron Maimon

@ron Physicsoverflow was designed to be the physics equivalent of mathoverflow but lowered to grad and above. In addition, frank rudeness was also included so that bright talented guys like you didn't end up getting banned with your directness ;) This was all discussed and agreed upon by a few people on the original thread on Lubos's site and not by Dilaton all by himself.

I get the feeling that VK got upset when conformal_gk gave a frank, rude opinion on VK's ability as a physicist, and then decided to leave because he felt alienated.

Isn't this what the site is supposed to be about: frank, direct rudeness if necessary?

I think Dilaton and Dimension10 are generally fair and doing a good job in attracting the right people here.

Dilaton, you don't get to decide what physicsoverflow was meant to be. You don't get to decide who gets to participate, and you certainly don't get to block users unilaterally because you don't like them. If you think you do, and if you use your hosting powers to do this, you will get forked.

PhysicsOverflow is not meant to be an anarchist crackpot forum, you will never get this.
Jan 18, 2015 by Dilaton
That's complete poppycock. I talked to him on fb, he said Dilaton deleted his comments, and that he felt he was harassed by the admins. Then I came here, and I saw the official warning, and I am not ok with official warnings. I want to get rid of the rule regarding repeated warning for off topic posting, because it obviously never needs to be used. I completely lost it when I saw that official warning, it's contrary to every anarchist principle I have ever believed in.

@Ron that is completely incorrect. His account was deleted because he requested that his account be deleted. We gave him 32 hours to rethink his decision.

He wasn't "harassed" in any way. He requested deletion because he thinks a user spoke to him rudely. But on PO, we don't censor for rudeness, which has lead to him leaving the site.

He's was harassed and threatened with an official "block warning" by Dilaton, now he's left the site. His account has been deleted. I am not happy about this at all, and I cannot in good faith continue being a supporter of the other moderators here. Nor can I really reverse them, either.

Have you any idea what's happened to user Vladimir Kalitvianski?

I like taking a look at some of his recent comments on his user page, because of the way they generate interesting discussions, but I can't find him anymore.

I've looked through his review paper here:

A Toy Model of Renormalization and Reformulation
http://www.physicsoverflow.org/20239/a-toy-model-of-renormalization-and-reformulation?show=20239#q20239

But he seems to have been strangely anonymized.

Go fuck yourself.

Care to explain how a comment on "reformulation" is on-topic on a question about a universe without the Higgs?
Jan 15, 2015 by dimension10
Hi, yes, sort of. I have been doing other things a lot, out of necessity.
