Has Veneziano model meson-diquark vertexes? If not, why not?

Imagine a three pion vertex in a Veneziano open string. Picture it actually with the quark lines, and reverse one of them. Now we have a diquark-antidiquark-meson vertex. Why is such vertex forbidden, if it is?
