I suspect that what you mean is that you have a Z2 symmetric theory L=−12(∂ϕ)2+12μ2ϕ2−λϕ4 and you would like to compute the Lagrangian appropriate for fluctuations about the phase where the Z2 is spontaneously broken. You would want to write ϕ(x,t)=ˉΦ+φ(x,t) where ˉΦ is the minimum of the potential V(ϕ)=−12μ2ϕ2+λϕ4. You can then plug this decomposition into L, and keep all the terms that depend on φ. It's just algebra.
