I want to understand superconductivity in abelian Higgs model. Namely, I want to see why in type-2 superconductor ($\lambda \gg e^2$) lattice is formed of a large number of vortices with topological number equal to $1$ (I mean Abrikosov vortex), and in type-1 superconductor ($\lambda \ll e^2$) we have one big vortex with topological number equal to N. Also it would be interesting to see an explanation for Meissner effect.
Can you name textbooks, articles or other links?
Thanks in advance.
