bug in source button of editor

Question

I tried to convert the link to the pdf file in my answer

by clicking on the source button. But it converted only up to the first blank, not up to the end of what I marked.

There is actually no bug here. The "Source Button" actually just changes the editor from the visual editor to an HTML editor. This is one of the reasons why I suggested to change the button label to "HTML" here.

So is there a simple way to mark text and have it changed into a link? Such a button would be nice to have.

I have fixed the problem, it's just that spaces cannot be detected within URLs, so I changed them to "%20". An workaround would be to use the URL button (the subset and superset buttons placed next to each other; the thirteenth button or the first button in the fourth button group in the editor).

Usually yes, and I don't bother. But not in cases like this, when the link contains blanks. This is not the first time I had problems with this.
