Why do upvotes of questions on meta add to the total score?

I think they shouldn't; at least the meta score should be completely separated from the main score.

They don't. I remember you've raised this issue before, but they don't.

Ok, here you go, an upvote to prove that they don't : )

I now realize where my confusion came about: It is that in the history it says +10 or +5 although nothing is added to the score. (The latter is difficult to verify unless one remembers the precie score just before someone else gives an upvote.)

I therefore propose to delete the  +10 or +5 from the notifications when they are due to meta activity.

@polarkernel Is @ArnoldNeumaier's idea feasible? I had noticed these, but didn't know it could be so confusing.

@dimension10 Almost everything is feasible, it just requires time :)   Do we really need to display an indication of the rep gained by votes in the history? These points are constants and explained in the FAQ. Anyway, I can adapt the History plugin accordingly for both solutions and suppress this number as desired.

@polarkernel Ah yes, you're right, we dont't really need the rep indication at all! I'll CSS-hide it from the admin panel.
