Why is it called Spinorial Geometry?

The question almost says it all. We know that Spinorial Geometry is a recent method used to classify supersymmetric solutions in various dimensions. I am not familiar with the method as I have not used it before, but I am planning to in the next month. So in order to start appropriately, I start from the title of the method. Why is it called Spinorial Geometry?
