If you ended up for some reason with more than one accound and want them to be merged, please post an answer in this thread (including links to the accounts to be merged and telling us which one you'd like to keep) and an administrator will help you as soon as possible.

Eventually the user should also tell us, which of the accounts he likes to keep. Only the posts (and naturally also the corresponding points) will be merged, but not the content of the user profile (wall, about, etc.).

Can I get my SE account merged here?

http://physics.stackexchange.com/users/30522/pettaxi

Thanks.

Hi clarofet,

as PO is not in the SE network, it is not possible to directly merge PO and Physics SE accounts for example.

It seems your SE account has not been imported (yet), so what you could do is to change your user name from the Edit Profile link in the top menu bar to the name you use on SE, and the request your for PO on-topic posts to be imported here.

I am an SE user who had a post imported into the Physics Overflow.  I was directed to an answer on PO by an SE user comment.  After going to the answer on PO I attempted to leave a comment.  I was asked to register and attempted to do so under my SE name (Lewis Miller).  I was told the name was already taken and registered using my full name (Lewis Dudley Miller).  Now I realize that the import placed my SE name in the PO directory.  I need to merge the two accounts under my SE name Lewis Miller.  Here are my two links:  http://physicsoverflow.org/user/Lewis+Dudley+Miller  https://physics.stackexchange.com/users/77210/lewis-miller

Thanks

I have merged Lewis Miller into Lewis Dudley Miller.

From the Edit Profile link in the top menu bar, you can change the display name and other things of your profile any time.

Also, if there are SE posts you would like to see on PO too, you can request them to be imported here. Apart from importing your own content, requesting specific questions to be imported is a valid way to strengthen the presence of your fields of interest on PO.

Could you merge my account: http://physics.stackexchange.com/users/51945/teika-kazura?tab=profile with my new PO one? That page says I'm requeting a merger.

Hi teika kazura, welcome to PhysicsOverflow.

As PO is not in the SE network, we can not directly associate or merge the Physics SE accout with the PO account.

However, in your case this is not really needed, as your display names on both sites agree. This has the effect that your from Physics SE imported posts get correctly associated with your PO account anyway. It just happend so with the question you requested to be imported.

Please feel free to anytime tell us (in the import queue) if there or other PO on-topic SE posts you would like to see on PO too.

Thanks a lot, Dilaton. Now I feel scale invariant :)

Would you please merge my account here with my Physics.SE ?account http://physics.stackexchange.com/users/63097/diracology

Thanks!

answered Jul 11, 2016 by Diracology (120 points) [ no revision ]

Hi Diracology, welcome to PhysicsOverflow !

As PO is not in the SE network, we can not directly merge your SE account with this PO account.

However, we could import your for PO on-topic posts and assign them to you, if you like.

Generally, you can always request your (or other people's) SE posts you would like to see on PO too, to be imported here:

I would like to merge my newly created PhysicsOverflow account:

http://www.physicsoverflow.org/user/John+Carlos+Baez

with my old Physics Stack Exchange account:

http://www.physicsoverflow.org/user/John+Baez

I want my username to be John Baez.  Thanks!

Welcome to PhysicsOverflow!

To keep your access to the account intact, I had to do it the other way round.

http://www.physicsoverflow.org/user/John+Carlos+Baez

But from the Edit Profile button in the top menu bar of each page you can easily change the user name and other things about your profile.

Hi SRS, welcome to PhysicsOverflow !

As PO is not in the SE network, we can not directly merge your Physics SE account and your PO account.

But you can request any for PO on-topic SE posts you would like to see here to to be imported by telling me directly or by answering this thread of import requests.

As your name on SE und on PO is the same, your imported posts will get correctly assigned to your PO account.

Hi, my SE account has been imported to http://physicsoverflow.org/user/nio. Could you please merge the overflow account with the SE account and keep the SE account? Thanks!

Hi nio,

welcome to PhysicsOverflow!

To preserve your access to the account, I had to do it the other way round.

But from the Edit Profile link in the top menu bar, you can change your display name (and other things) to nio for example, which would also have the positive effect that any future imported posts would automatically get correctly assigned to your account.

I want to merge my new account on PO and the one imported by someone from SE. Here they are:

New account: http://www.physicsoverflow.org/user/Andrey+Feldman.

Imported one: http://www.physicsoverflow.org/user/Andrew+Feldman.

I would like the new one to consume the imported one.
