I wonder what the scope of this tag should be. Does it apply to D = 2 only? There is a significant distinction between CFTs in D = 2 and CFTs in D > 2. Maybe we need 2 different tags?

In my experience the expression CFT does not imply it is two-dimensional, if you want to be specific you can use two separate tags.
