I'm looking for an engineering material from which we can build a vacuum chamber. It needs a reasonably high transmission for soft x-rays (\(E\sim500\text{ eV}\)). Any hints on where to look?
Diamonds are good for Xray transparency. http://www.diamond-materials.com/EN/products/cvd_for_xray/xray_windows.htm . This of course means a small window in a vacuum chamber.
Maybe this will give some ideas http://file.scirp.org/Html/1-4900260_44180.htm
This more appropriate for an engineering site.
