  Can we disable the "Prevent Simulataneous Edits" plugin?

Contrary to what we had expected, the "Prevent Simultaneous Edits" plug-in works by kicking out the first edit made, getting rid of all that content changed. This obviously does more harm than good, so can it be removed?
