See my first comment to my own post, it is strange that I can neither edit it nor hide it.

I can't figure out where this issue comes from. The entries in the database for this post are all correct. Shall I try to hide and delete it for you?

@polarkernel,Yes please. Thank you.

Ah, I think I get it. I can't hide it either. It seems that the code text is overflowing. Have noticed this on MO before. Maybe the system realises that this site is an "overflow" site : )

All I had to do was inspect element, remove the side panel (for me only), increase the width of qa-main, scroll to the right, and click "hide".

@Ron Maimon The bug has been set in a list of microbugs to be solved. As long as this doesn't appear more often, I give it low priority.

Is it only the first comment, or can you generally not edit your posts and comments?

@dimension10: Is the bug fixed or not? What caused it? Can you write an answer?

This bug has not been fixed (yet), but I must say this bug will not be encountered very often.

It's just that when some long piece of code overflows, the buttons like hide, edit, reply, flag, etc. become hidden as it is pushed into the side panel and the background.

Needless to say, the probability of this bug being encountered will not be very much. It also has happened on Maths Overflow. Hm,...

I have made a workaround for this bug.

I have added a button, "Collapse Sidebar" at the bottom of the page. When you click it, the sidebar is collapsed and the content expands. The text of the button now becomes "Expand Sidebar". Click it, and the sidebar re-appears.

In this way, if there is any overflow, you can just scroll to the bottom of the page, collapse the sidebar, scroll back up to the overflowing post, and do whatever you want. This should fix most of the (very rare) problems with overflows.
