  New moderators elected

Four new moderators have been elected upon the conclusion of the 2015 moderator elections.

  • Dilaton has been re-elected, and has agreed to be an active moderator.
  • Urs Schreiber has been elected, and has agreed to be a moderator, although he might not have time to actively participate in moderation.
  • Arnold Neumaier has been elected and will be at least partially active in moderation, as I judge from his response.
  • 40227 has been elected, and has agreed to be a moderator, although he might not have time to actively participate in site moderation.

Welcome! All the new active @moderators are requested to have a look at the moderator manual (please pardon the slightly funny language).

As for the existing active moderators, dimension10 will resign by the end of the year, that is about 2015-12-04, and Eduardo Guerras is not currently active anyway.

Congrats to all!

I am quite content with the results. Congratulations to all!

Many thanks to Urs, Arnold, and 40227 for helping PO with moderation (as far as time constraints allow)!

Perhaps the newly elected moderators could give a rough bio including how they're employed in the real world etc ? People are bound to be interested.

@physicsnewbie: Those wanting to say something about themselves do this already in their profile.

@Arnold Neumaier True, and upon reflection there's perhaps no need since sci.physics.research doesn't either: http://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/spr.html

Why is dimension10 resigning? He started this website right?

@Ed: According to p. 8. of the current moderator manual each moderator resigns after some period between 6 and 24 months, and can be elected again.

@Ed ALL maderators will resign, and no - I did not start PO.

Just to clarify, of course not all other moderators will resign too at the same time as @Dimension10 plans to do so ...

@Dilaton right - I meant that all moderators are expected to resign eventually, the active ones, anyway.

@Dimension10 Then who started it? I thought it was you and @Dilation. And it would be good if there is a page that describes the founding of this site.

@Ed see the history of PhysicsOverflow meta post ...

The history of PhysicsOverflow meta post says that '

polarkernel, Dilaton, and dimension10 may be considered as "founders" for practical purposes.
