"The main idea [of episciences.org] is to provide a technical platform of peer-reviewing; its purpose is to promote the emergence of epijournals, namely open access electronic journals taking their contents from preprints deposited in open archives such as arXiv or HAL, that have not been published elsewhere. The editorial boards of such epijournals organize peer reviewing and scientific discussion of selected or submitted preprints. Epijournals can thus be considered as “overlay journals” built above the open archives; they add value to these archives by attaching a scientific caution to the validated papers."

Perhapsa  physics epijournal (an arXiv-overlay journal with agile peer review) could be based on the Reviews section of Physics Overflow?

I am not sure if I correctly understand the intention of this post...

Are you asking if the physics part of this epiciences movement could make use of the Reviews section of PO as a place to put down their reviews of ArXiv papers?

Of course it would be great for PO, if such an organized group of engaged people would start to make use of our Reviews section, as long as both the papers and the reviews meet the (scientific) standards expected on PO.

@Dilaton - that's the intention indeed, but there seems to be no physics epijournal yet - I see only maths and social sciences journals in their list. So I thought perhaps a new physics epijournal could start with the PO Reviews section.

If there is no a physics epijournal, nor people eager to create one, then what is the place for our sorry reviews?
