Crossposting policy

Question

I was wondering what the crossposting policy on TP.SE was ? I have a post on cstheory relating to quantum lower bounds that got some votes but no answers, and I was tempted to post it here. I posted it there on Monday evening.

I don't think this has really come up here yet. I would suggest that we agree on some minimum period before cross posting , perhaps 1 week (I forget what cstheory uses), after which we would allow cross-posts provided they link back to the original post, to avoid duplicating effort.

ok. in cstheory we recommend 48 hours (that's also because we have a sufficient level of activity for that time frame to make sense). If you think a week makes sense, I'll wait.

@Suresh: that was just an arbitrary suggestion, and one which doesn't seem to have any up votes. Why don't you try posting here now, and we can see how things go? I don't think this has really come up before, so we can just see it as a test case ;-) Certainly no one can accuse you of not checking first.
