  Should downvoting cost points for the downvoter?

On Stack Exchange, downvoting an answer costs 1 reputation point, whereas downvoting a question is free. Should PhysicsOverflow do the same, or should we change this?

No it shouldn't. See my answer to How many points must one loose for being downvoted?

for the reasoning, it skews the answers towards a regime of more positive votes, and is therefore inaccurate. What SE is doing is basically punishing criticism.
