Will I be alerted that somebody has used the @annav?  Or if I ever post an answer that somebody is commenting on my answer?

Yup, you will. We still need to install a plugin for @pinging though.

I forgot to mention, polarkernel has written a plugin (now successfully installed) for @pinging.
