Responding to private messages when email does not contain link?

Is there a way to access your private messages when the email does not contain a link? I had a private message and I didn't see how to get to it through any option in the menus.

If you know the username of the user who sent the private message, then it's quite easy. Just go to physicsoverflow.org/message/User+name, replacing "User name" with the username of the sender.

I'm surprised, though, that there was no link in the email. Could you forward it to admin at physicsoverflow dot org, so the issue could be debugged? Please remember to cut out the content of the message, obviously (and the identity of the sender).

I do not consider the exchange private, but as I was forwarding it, I realized gmail's automatic message filter was responsible for removing the duplicative part which contains the link--- sorry problem on my end.

You can also go to the user's profile page and then click "send private message" which brings up the thread of private messages sent/received with that user.
