  Which browsers does PhysicsOverflow support?

+ 2 like - 0 dislike

Physicsoverflow works OK for Chrome. It also works OK on IE, although there's the large ugly "like/dislike" beside the buttons, and I don't even get an answer box with Firefox!

Are users expected to use Chrome when browsing, or is the site meant to be compatible with all browsers?

Edit: Firefox works OK, after updating it.

firefox works for me. There's no way Q2A is incompatible with some browsers.

I just checked if firefox (and palemoon) shows an answer box. It does for me.

The big "like" "dislike" in IE is because those things are set to be transparent (transparency is not supported by IE, bad browser). Just try highlighting your vote box in chrome or Firefox. You will see the "like"/"dislike". ;

The reason for this is that making them display:none would make the position of the number of negative votes goes up too much. It can also be done through "display:hidden", but this works.

But anyway,   few people care about IE anyway. http://gs.statcounter.com/#all-browser-ww-monthly-201402-201402-map

Ok, I fixed the IE problem anyway.

I updated my Firefox, and it works fine now.

@dimension10 Chrome dominates mobile devices, whereas IE share becomes more significant for desktop/laptops. It's difficult to know for certain what type of user logs on here:  at http://www.netmarketshare.com/browser-market-share.aspx?qprid=2&qpcustomd=0

@physicsnewbie Maybe, but that was hard for me to believe, because Japan and South Korea are known for their usage of mobile devices.
