@dimension10 could you suggest another way we can chat on topics here, until the chat rooms are made available?
Physicsoverflow Public Beta
Have any new users joined since the launch?
How many users are visitng the site/day?
Mark Eichenlaub and Xiao-Gang Wen will be here (they had some issues with login which are taken care of).
@dilaton I'd like to upvote your comment, but I can't. How many points do I need?
Thanks, to upvote you need some points now in public beta, as described here
@physicsnewbie 15.
Xiao-Gang Wen, Nathaniel, JeffDror, Greg Graviton, and a number of other people,.
On the first 24 hours of public beta, there have been 12 registrations of new users and an unknown number of users, that have regained their account. The site has been visited 240 times.
@polarkernel Wow, that's quite good! TP.SE got an average of just 199 visits per day, despite being part of a huge network.
@polarkernel Could you give for each day of the past week:
1. number of visits/day
2. number of non-meta questions asked/day.
We should now have a rough idea idea of what the long term stats are likely to be from this.
@physicsnewbie You can see (2) for yourself. It is ridiculous to claim that our long-term stats will look like our current stats. We've just started like a week ago. The stats will improve in some time, and it is obvious that they will boom once the reviews section is up.
@dimension10 it's not perfect, but merely a rough indication for the curious like me.
@physicsnewbie It's not a rough indication either.
@dimension10 For the sort of roughness I'm interested in, yes. It will tell me how fast the trend is upwards or downwards, and from that I can extrapolate to how the site will be doing compared to MO over the future.
