How can we separate Meta and Physics questions on the main page?

When first visiting the site, I find it very confusing that Meta and Physics questions are being mixed on the main page. The obvious solution would be to have two separate Q&A directories, that are linked from the main page. Unless anyone else has other solutions, could we do this pretty soon?

Meta and Main are two different categories for exactly that purpose. On the right side bar you can see all the level 1 categories we have. When clicking on Main there, you will only see the physics questions, whereas when you click on Meta you see exclusively the meta threads. And in the future, researchers who are exclusively interested in discussing cutting edge papers, can select the Refereeing category.

Yes, on the sidebar on the rigth you can click on the subcategory you are interested in too.

I think that the OP is asking whether questions in meta can be stopped from appearing on the main page, on a site-wide basis. It doesn't matter, in my opinion, because once we have a larger site, the main questions will out number the meta ones.

It matters initially. Content is the only thing that attracts people; everything else is noise to the newcomer.
